Svinesund
The inlet from the west to Ringdalsfjorden - Halden and Idefjorden. The traffic might be high and the speed limit of 7 knots seems to be an unknown conception
in Norway. The washes at launches or landings might be a cause of some trouble.
Entering the Ringdalsfjorden and paddling under the new Svinesundsbron we soon reach Svinesund – the goal – if we started at Haparanda.
At the old ferry berth in Svinesund is this navigation mark that goes for as well Starting as Goal point within K2Bandet. Te road is the old way down to the ferry berth
and ends with a turn around area.
The actual old bridge's abutment with the border mark (about 75 meters to the east in the photo above) is however starting point for HBB-paddlers.
Seen from the east the two bridges at Svinesund are a mighty sight..
Almost straight in course is the mentioned navigation mark at the ferry berth. The new bridge is framed by the old.
